Applications for the 2024 Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant are now open. The deadline to apply is January 17, 2024, at 11:59pm (EST).
The Gottlieb Foundation wishes to encourage artists who have dedicated at least two decades to pursuing their art as a serious, committed endeavor. Applications are reviewed by a panel of five professionals in the arts who have no affiliation with the foundation. Twenty grants will be awarded this year.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate that they have been working in a mature phase of their art for at least 20 years and that their primary involvement has been with their artistic goals, regardless of other personal or financial responsibilities. Artists must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture, or printmaking. In addition to the maturity requirement, eligibility for an Individual Support Grant is determined based on the applicant’s current financial need.
Last year, the foundation awarded grants of $25,000 each to 20 artists.
