Plantation Tree of Life by Colin Quashie won People’s Choice 2D in the ArtFields 2018 Exhibition.
ArtFields in Lake City, South Carolina turns what was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities into a living art gallery that shows some of the best art of the Southeastern United States. Around 400 artworks, from paintings and sculptures to installations and new media works, will be displayed in local venues, including renovated 1920’s warehouses, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques, and other businesses. Over $145,000 of prize money is awarded each year in this celebration of art and community.
In the 7th year of ArtFields, visitors will be able to enjoy competition artwork from artists in 12 Southeastern states, plus artwork from students all over South Carolina. The week also features performances by the Harlem Gospel Choir and other live music groups, a Portrait Contest honoring military personnel as models, Makers Market where artisans sell their handmade pieces, Plein Air Day, Dandelion Gala, a laser show, and more. Don’t miss the explosion of art in Lake City this year.
