Applications for the 2023 Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant are now open. The deadline for submitting applications is January 18, 2023.
The Gottlieb Foundation wants to encourage mid-career and older artists who have invested 20 years or more developing their art. Twenty grants of $25,000 each will be awarded for 2023. Applications are reviewed by a panel of five professional artists and scholars who have no affiliation with the foundation.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate that they have been working in a mature phase of their art for at least 20 years and that their primary commitment has been to their artistic development. This program will only consider artists who work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture, or printmaking. In addition to the maturity requirement, eligibility for an Individual Support Grant is determined based on the applicant’s current financial need.
