The nonprofit industrial complex in the US has failed artists. Rocío Aranda-Alvarado and Lane Harwell of the Ford Foundation’s Creativity and Free Expression team suggest nine ways to change that.

Rocío Aranda-Alvarado is an art historian and curator. She is currently a Senior Program Officer in Arts and Culture on the Creativity and Free Expression team at the Ford Foundation. Her curatorial work and research explore modern and contemporary art of the Americas, with a focus on US Latinx art.
